Head Master's Notices

The Lower School Dance Show last night was wonderful and we look forward to a second show this evening. Tomorrow we anticipate a busy Open Morning, followed by afternoon fixtures with Prior Park, Colston’s, Bryanston, Downside and Canford.

Public exams get underway in earnest next week and I know that everyone is revising hard. I wish all pupils the best of luck for the exam season.

I saw this video last week at the HMC Spring Conference and thought that I would share it with you. HMC and Digital Awareness UK produced the video on digital addiction to raise awareness and to help children to use digital devices responsibly.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Work Experience

The school is always very keen to hear from parents who may be able to offer work experience/shadowing opportunities or who are aware of work experience programs in the organisation they work for. The pupils gain a huge amount from the process and, in our experience, those involved on the employer side also find the process most worthwhile.
Placement duration tends to be between two and five days and arranging them is far simpler than many anticipate. If you would like to know more then do please contact either James O’Hanlon j.ohanlon@dauntseys.org or Carrie Watson c.watson@dauntseys.org in the Careers Department

Engineering Work Experience
10-14 July

Now in its third year; Dauntsey’s pupils will have the opportunity to undertake a week of work experience at MOD Lyneham. Primarily aimed at potential engineers (16 years old and above), the week will give an overview of helicopter, wheeled and armoured vehicle maintenance training. It will encompass classroom, hangar and outdoor activities. The week should provide a valuable insight to working life outside the school environment. Limited to 10 places.
Please contact Mr James O’Hanlon, Dauntsey’s career advisor.

Manor Matters

The latest group of Third Form invitees joined the Hursts for a ‘Housemaster’s supper’ on Wednesday, where the conversation was as lively and energetic as ever –the six boys and girls were great company and had lots to say!

It has been a busy week for the First and Second Form, as they prepared for the Lower School Dance Show on Thursday and Friday.

Mrs Sampson has planned a ‘chilled out’ Saturday night, with some treats and a film planned, before some of our braver students take on the challenge of the Dauntsey’s Triathlon on Sunday.

Many of our boys and girls (and parents) are also busy training for the Manor Marathon, which takes place next weekend, on Sunday 14 May – it is a great house event and should be another fantastic Manor occasion.
