Head Master's Notices
Thank you to everyone who attended the Head Master’s Question Time last night. It was a lovely opportunity for me to interact and share opinions with you all.
The Fifth Form are now on study leave and I look forward to celebrating with the Upper Sixth at their Leavers’ BBQ next Friday. I hope they all enjoy the occasion with House suppers the night before and a special Leavers’ Breakfast on Friday morning.
Our First and Second Forms undertake their internal examinations next week. I wish them all the best of luck.
Tomorrow, our cricket teams take on Hampshire Collegiate School and Sandroyd Prep, whilst the tennis teams play Godolphin and Kingswood. Have a good weekend.

FREE CyberFirst Courses for students aged 14 - 17yrs
The National Cyber Security Centre (part of GCHQ), the Smallpeice Trust and QA are jointly running a series of Free CyberFirst courses throughout the Summer Holidays.
The courses represent a great opportunity to build on your existing cyber skills and interests. The courses are free with the aim of encouraging participation from as wide a section of society as possible. Running throughout the courses is a strong emphasis on the ethics and legalities of ‘messing around’ with computers and the internet.
Please follow the link for more information.
The school is always
very keen to hear from parents who may be able to offer work
experience/shadowing opportunities or who are aware of work experience programs
in the organisation they work for. The pupils gain a huge amount from the
process and, in our experience, those involved on the employer side also find
the process most worthwhile.
Placement duration tends to be between two and five days and arranging them is far simpler than many anticipate. If you would like to know more then do please contact either James O’Hanlon firstname.lastname@example.org or Carrie Watson email@example.com in the Careers Department
Engineering Work Experience
Now in its third year; Dauntsey’s pupils will have the opportunity to undertake a week of work experience at MOD Lyneham. Primarily aimed at potential engineers (16 years old and above), the week will give an overview of helicopter, wheeled and armoured vehicle maintenance training. It will encompass classroom, hangar and outdoor activities. The week should provide a valuable insight to working life outside the school environment. Limited to 10 places.
Please contact Mr James O’Hanlon, Dauntsey’s career advisor.

Many institutions hold Open Days in the summer term and for many of these it is perfectly acceptable to simply turn up on the day. Individual University websites are the best source of information but a useful central list can be found at https://www.opendays.com/

Sport Tours Brochure Advertising Space
In July 2017 we are taking 20 girls to Malaysia to play hockey, and 26 boys to Australia to play rugby. As part of our fundraising efforts we are producing a tour brochure. It will be a professionally produced A4 colour brochure. We aim to produce 1000 copies, as well as it being accessible on the school website. We will be selling advertising space in the brochure, and if you, or any businesses are interested in placing an advert, please do contact me.
All of the details and advertising costs are in the attached letter.
