Dauntsey's Bulletin no. 83
Friday 15 December 2017
Head Master's Notices
Well, we have reached our final bulletin of 2017. It has been a wonderful last week of term with inter-house matches, Christmas dinners, parties, and two glorious Carol Services. I was delighted to see the 1st XV rugby team win their national quarter-final match too, taking them through to the semi-finals at Saracens Ground, Allianz Park in March. I also enjoyed seeing so many Christmas jumpers on display during our mufti day on Wednesday.
The Religious Studies trip to India leaves this afternoon and I hope that they enjoy this fascinating country.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a relaxing break. Thank you for all your support this year and see you in 2018!

He is the first openly gay man to referee at the highest level.

Lower School Notices and Reminders
Disappointed not to wake up to the blanket of snow that seemed to be covering the rest of the nation, the Manorites spent much of last Sunday preparing for the Manor Advent Concert. Rehearsals ground to a halt mid-afternoon when some flakes finally fell, and the much loved ‘waterslide’ was temporarily turned into a ski-slope.
The wintery conditions set the scene perfectly for the evening’s concert – parents and children were entertained with festive songs, recitals and a nativity play; the sight of baby Jesus descending from the balcony will be remembered for some time!
During the interval, the Headmaster kindly judged the Christmas Cake Competition. The bakers had all worked very hard this year, and the standard of entry was exceptional, making judging very tricky. After much deliberation, Freddie and Harry were announced worthy winners, with Alex and Molly being awarded second and third place respectively.
The Manor Staff would like to
thank you for all your support this term, and we wish you a very Happy
Christmas and good wishes for the New Year.
Anne Sampson, House Mistress.
