Armed Forces Families

Dauntsey’s is immensely proud of its longstanding association with military families, and supporting this community is a key priority for the school.

We are fortunate to have many children of serving members of the UK Armed Forces among our pupils and warmly welcome enquiries from Service families considering boarding.

Junior boarders can join us at age 11 (Year 7) or 13 (Year 9) in The Manor, our co-educational Lower School boarding house.  Home to 80 full-time boarders, The Manor is a vibrant, supportive environment, run very much like a family home.  A large number of teaching staff live on site with their own families, ensuring a strong sense of community and pastoral care.

Dauntsey’s is a very special school with the perfect mix of academic and non-academic pursuits set within an atmosphere of friendliness, kindness and encouragement. Whilst many schools prioritise raw academic results, Dauntsey’s stands out for its extraordinarily rounded approach to education where children are able to thrive on their own individual merits whether that is in the classroom or not. Dauntsey’s has a unique sense of fun and spirit of adventure which we hope will never change!

Financial Support

We are acutely aware that the introduction of VAT on school fees, combined with the comparatively modest revaluation of the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) has resulted financial challenges for some families who had hoped for their child(ren) to be able to attend Dauntsey’s.

We have therefore decided that from September 2025, the total amount payable for CEA-funded boarding pupils will be reduced to 10% of our boarding fee in 2025.

These discounts are only available to serving members of the military in receipt of CEA funding and are only applicable to boarding places.

Please contact Helen Sullivan, Head of Admissions, to discuss any aspect of admissions including scholarships and awards.  The Bursar will also be pleased to discuss financial planning with any service family eligible for the Continuation of Education Allowance (CEA).

Life at the Manor

The Manor is home to approximately 80 Lower School boarders (aged 11-14).

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care at Dauntsey’s is about striking a balance between care and personal development.

Lower School Academic

When pupils arrive into Lower School at Dauntsey's they will be part of a cohort of around 100 children who have come from over 60 different schools, state and prep, local and overseas.
