Sport and Adventure
We believe that behaviours learnt through both Sport and Adventure are of utmost importance to our students and therefore these are key aspects of Sixth Form life.
Sport in the Sixth Form
Sport plays an important role in the school curriculum and Sixth Form students are expected, and encouraged, to take an active part.
There are many team and individual activities available, both at recreational and competitive levels. Games is scheduled in on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and, in addition to this, there is an extensive programme of sporting fixtures, which take place mainly on Saturdays.
Team games are: rugby, hockey (girls and boys), netball, basketball, football, cricket, athletics and tennis.
Major team sports take priority, but if a student is not required for the major game of that term, they will be released into the options system.
Adventure in the Sixth Form
Adventure is a key part of life at Dauntsey’s and as students enter the Sixth Form there are many opportunities to develop themselves through challenge.
A willingness to have a go defines a Dauntsey’s student.
Sixth Formers are also invited to join our Assistant Instructors scheme where they work alongside members of staff to deliver adventures for the Lower School, gaining valuable experience as they shoulder responsibility for making programmes happen.
In the Sixth Form, our adventure programme is aimed more towards ‘high adventure’ activities and trips.
