Drama

A group performing on stage

Drama is thriving at Dauntsey's and the school has become well known for the high standard of its productions, all of which are open to the public.

Drama GCSE is a popular option as the syllabus offers a good balance of practical and text-based work. Drama & Theatre is offered at AS and A Level and provides the opportunity for pupils to continue from their GCSE studies or start from scratch.

For those not choosing to study drama for public examination, this vibrant area of school life affords many opportunities for all pupils to perform, design and direct in the many productions that take place during the school year. With six or seven productions each year, ranging from small studio pieces to full stage shows and musicals; we provide a variety of styles and plenty of choice. Extra-curricular activities offered by the Drama Department include scenery design, dance classes, theatrical productions, sound, make-up, stage management and stage lighting.

Recent showcases include; Legally Blonde, In The HeightsLes MisérablesBilly Elliot, Mathew Bourne's Lord of the FliesMamma Mia! and Jesus Christ Superstar.
