Drama

Drama is thriving at Dauntsey's and the School has become well known for the high standard of its productions, all of which are open to the public.

Drama is very much part of the fabric of life here and most pupils get involved in drama and dance at some point, either on stage or behind the scenes. With six or seven productions each year, ranging from small studio pieces to full stage shows and musicals; we provide a variety of styles and plenty of choice.

Recent showcases include; In The HeightsLes Misérables, Billy Elliot, One Man Two Guvnors, Mathew Bourne's Lord of the Flies, Mamma Mia! and Jesus Christ Superstar.

When it comes to drama Dauntsey’s is unique, not only for the range and quality of our performing arts but also because we keep standard so high while offering opportunities to all pupils, not only those with the talent and ambition to pursue a career in this most competitive of fields.

Premieres

We have staged the school, youth or amateur premieres of a string of big name musicals including, Cats, Evita, Miss Saigon, Spamalot, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia! and Billy Elliot, thanks to Old Dauntseian George Biggs, former Managing Director of Cameron Mackintosh. The connection has undoubtedly opened doors for us but the quality of our productions has kept them that way.
