Dauntsey's has its own Art School, housed separately from the main school site in a spacious building rich with history.

The wide ranging programme offered to all pupils includes; drawing and painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics and digital design. History of Art is taught as an integral part of the course throughout all year groups and its' influence is reflected in pupils' work at every stage.

Central to the Art School is the exhibition area, The Gallery, which hosts a wide range of work of artistic merit from both pupils and guest artists. There is a diverse programme of extra-curricular activities to enrich both lower and upper school learning these include, Junior Art Club, Life Drawing classes, an extensive timetable of art history lectures and talks from industry specialists, together with educational trips and visits to Galleries in the UK and abroad. Students have recently enjoyed trips to Florence, Rome and Venice and al fresco drawing on the Jolie Brise.

All pupils study art for their first three years at Dauntsey's when the foundations of visual literacy and awareness and technical competence are laid. Thereafter, pupils may opt to study the subject for GCSE and A Level in the Sixth Form. Numbers have nearly doubled over the past four years and 100% A*-B grades have been maintained at both GCSE and A Level.

Most A2 candidates progress on to prestigious universities or further their art studies by applying for a place on an Art and Design Foundation Course.
