Head Master's Notices

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Exeat weekend and managed to have some quality time in the wonderful weather.

Public Examinations have continued to take place in school, and I know that everyone is working hard, including those lower down the school who have internal exams in the next few weeks.

Tomorrow we anticipate a busy Open Morning, followed by afternoon fixtures against Prior Park College, Marlborough College, Colston’s, Clifton College, and Farleigh.

I hope that King-Reynolds enjoy their picnic this evening, and I wish you all a good weekend.

GCSE and GCE Exams

We hope revision and exam preparation is going well. Below are just a few important points for pupils to bear in mind once they commence examination leave.

  • 1. If you are unsure of when one of your exams is scheduled, check your personal timetable or look at the timetable on the website under examinations. If you have mislaid your timetable we can e-mail you a replacement. Please send requests to the exams office at examsmanager@dauntseys.wilts.sch.uk . We will get a replacement to you as soon as possible.

2. Please check your Dauntsey’s e-mail account at least once a day during exams. This is our preferred method of contacting you with any changes or important information.

3. Arrive early so that you can double-check where your exam is and where your seat is on the seating list that is posted on the door of the Mem Hall, before every exam session. This will also list final arrangements for typing exams and specify which IT room you are in. Arriving early also helps to ensure that you are ready and settled once you enter the exam room.

4. Typing exams – usually in IT3 but also in IT1 & 2 on occasion. We will usually e-mail you a day or two in advance with final IT room details, but these can be subject to change, so check the Memorial Hall seating plan before each session. If in doubt e-mail the examsmanager@dauntseys.wilts.sch.uk or telephone 01380 814677.

5. If you had any exam clashes, we have now resolved all clashes and will be communicating details of your specific arrangements, if we haven’t already, very soon. Again, if you have any concerns please contact the exams office.

Exam Results

1. It is important that your Dauntsey’s e-mail accounts are not full at the time your results are e-mailed to you by the Exams Office. GCE results are released and e-mailed on the 16th August and GCSE results are released and e-mailed to you on the 23rd August, 2018.

2. For those of you who have left Dauntsey’s following your exams, your school e-mail account will remain open until the 30th September.

3. The Exams Office will be providing Post-Results Support and will be able to advise on any issues relating to your results, once they have been released.

Best Wishes and Good Luck with your exams

Lower School Notices and Reminders

Manor Matters

The annual duck race took place in the stream at The Manor last Friday. Ducks and pupils took advantage of the warm evening and many Manorites enjoyed splashing around in the stream, 'helping' the ducks along the race course. Winning duck owners were rewarded with sweets to share and we raised almost £100 for Malayaka House, the school charity. Following the duck race, we enjoyed a delicious BBQ before settling down to Prep.

On Monday evening, the Manorites returned from their Exeat sun-kissed and full of stories about their weekend - the House was full of happy chatter at bedtime!

We have a quiet weekend planned this weekend and hope that the weather will be kind and allow us to bring out the water slide - in addition, we will pop into Devizes for a shopping trip, and will undoubtedly enjoy some fun outside in the sun.
Anne Sampson, House Mistress.
