Oxbridge Pathways
For many university-level subjects, Oxford and Cambridge Universities stand among the best in the UK and feature prominently in global rankings. An Oxford or Cambridge (Oxbridge) degree carries great prestige and is highly valued by employers. Graduates from these institutions often achieve remarkable success in their chosen careers.
However, entry to Oxford and Cambridge has become increasingly competitive. Over the past decade, applications have risen sharply, making it exceptionally challenging to secure an offer. Both universities have rigorous application procedures designed to identify students with the greatest academic potential. Successful candidates not only need an outstanding academic record but must also demonstrate a genuine passion and enthusiasm for their chosen subject. As selection is based on academic merit, co-curricular achievements hold little to no weight in the decision-making process.
Careful consideration is crucial before embarking on an Oxbridge application. For curious, driven, and proactive students with exemplary academic achievements, a deep-seated passion for their subject, and the determination to excel, then an Oxbridge application may be the right path.
We are committed to nurturing the academic ambitions of all of our pupils, and ensuring that they have the resources and expertise to help them succeed in their Oxbridge journey. Carrie Marsden, Head of Oxbridge
