Morning Travel
During inclement weather conditions an announcement will be made to the whole School community using Clarion Call, BBC Wiltshire local radio and the School website.
Announcements will be made in the morning of any day when weather conditions make our roads too hazardous for bus travel, and the decision to close/delay opening the School will be taken by the Head Master.
The sequence of decisions to be made is as follows:
06.00 to 06.10 all bus companies to be contacted by the Assistant Bursar and best information gathered by 06.15.
06.15 to 06.20 Head Master and Second Master make decision on whether to close school to day pupils.
06.30 decision distributed to whole School community via Clarion Call, BBC Wiltshire local radio and School website.
In addition, the Assistant Bursar will contact each of the Bus Companies informing them of the School’s decision.
Return Travel
The safety of the children will always be our first concern.
Should weather conditions make it impossible to continue classes during the School day, a message will be sent via Clarion Call, BBC Wiltshire Radio, School website and email notifying parents that the School will be closed early. Parents will need to make the necessary arrangements for their children in cases where no-one is at home during early closure of the School.
Dependent upon the weather and the condition of the road surfaces a decision will be made as to whether a full bus service is offered to all stops. Should weather conditions deteriorate greatly then only major roads will be used.
During inclement weather conditions, buses are likely to run a few minutes late due to road conditions. Pick-up times and locations will be as close to the regular schedule as possible unless you are notified on Clarion Call.
