Head Master's Notices
It has been a tough start to the term for our Fifth Form, as they have taken on the challenge of their mock exams and I hope that they enjoy a restful weekend at the end of it. On the subject of exams, it is the First Form Entrance examinations and interviews next week, and I am pleased to report another large entry list.
Many congratulations to the 1st XI girls’ hockey team who recorded an excellent 3-1 win over Bromsgrove School and have now progressed to the regional final. A win there will see them qualify for the national finals, at Lee Valley, and this would be a fitting reward for a very talented, well-motivated and tight knit squad.
I wish the best of luck to our cross country runners, who will be competing in the County Schools’ Cross Country event at Sheldon School, in what are sure to be muddy and testing conditions. I would also like to mention our Devizes to Westminster paddlers, as they have braved difficult, windy and wet training conditions, reportedly with excellent determination and good humour. And, as always, I wish all our sports teams and our opponents the best of luck for the weekend fixtures.
Have a good weekend.

Family Photography Experience
As part of our fundraising for the girls’ hockey tour to Malaysia and the boys’ rugby tour to Portugal we are once again teaming up with Imagine Contemporary Portraits Ltd to offer you a ‘Family Photography Experience’ for £20. The experience normally costs £75. Should you wish to have this experience for just £20, Imagine Ltd will then donate £20 to the school for the tours.
The Family Photography Experience has a 6 month validity and includes a photo session, a viewing and a 10x8” print. At the viewing the family has the opportunity to buy other pictures if they’d like to, but there’s no pressure or obligation to do so. If you would like to purchase a voucher please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and the ‘Experience Pack' will be sent to you, it includes a voucher, letter and leaflet with information on how to book.
Many thanks for your support

Lower School Notices and Reminders
There have been many frenzied battles at The Manor this week, as games of ‘Uno Attack’ and ‘Dobble’ were enjoyed by some of our younger boarders (and some of our competitive tutors!). Stephen proved to be the undisputed ‘King of Dobble’, and Mrs Sampson enjoyed scooping the Uno crown! The foul weather outside has meant that the table-tennis table is also proving popular again, and we are in the process of creating our new table-tennis ladder for this term.
Last weekend, many of the Manorites stayed in for the weekend and enjoyed a trip to Laserquest and the Bowling Alley; this popular outing was followed by a stop off at the outlet centre where the children were able to snap up some bargains in the sales, and stock up on goodies for the term ahead.
This weekend we are looking forward to an internationally themed supper with games and activities on Saturday night; on Sunday we will be having a quiet day in House before heading to School for Evening Prayer and supper.
Anne Sampson, House Mistress.
