Head Master's Notices
The second half of this week has been dominated by the ‘Beast from the East’ and we have lost two days of school, as a result of snow, for the first time since 2013. Many thanks for your patience, as we have wrestled with travel arrangements, and I hope that you have at least enjoyed some aspects of the white out. There is no school on Saturday, as the bus companies won’t run, but we hope to be back to normal on Monday. Please keep an eye on the website though.
Rockfest, earlier this week, was a fantastic success with the Memorial Hall packed with parents and supporters from all year groups. It was great to get so many bands and soloists on stage and the results from the online vote can be found below. I also very much enjoyed the excellent ‘Black Comedy’, which will now have its final performance on Monday evening at 6pm.
Wrap up warm and have a good weekend.

Jo Fairley: 'The rollercoaster story of Green and Black's (and lessons learned along the way)'
8 March 2018
19:30 in the Memorial Hall
Jo Fairley co-founded Green & Black’s Chocolate in 1991. Dreamt up on a rainy night on London’s Portobello Road, Green & Black’s has grown into a $100 million worldwide brand. ‘Green’, because it was organic and ‘Black’ because it was the darkest chocolate on the market. The company established a pioneering fair trade ethos, and although now owned by Cadbury, Jo continues to champion its worldwide success. She has become an established entrepreneur; she co-wrote a series of Beauty Bible Books, and in 2014 launched the Perfume Society.
Jo will be bringing an exciting prize consisting of...a large quantity of chocolate (surprise!), for the 'best question' during her Q&A after the lecture.
Please make sure that you have reserved your seats online here.
Many thanks to all pupils and staff who took part in Rockfest. It was a wonderful afternoon of music. Please find attached the full results from the afternoon.

Lower School Notices and Reminders
The Manorites (and Buttons!) enjoyed a fantastic Night Hike last Saturday – clear skies meant that we were able to spot many constellations, and the chocolate break en route was very much appreciated. On Sunday the kitchen was a hive of activity as the pupils prepared their own supper; apparently, the Lasagne was the ‘best ever’!
Snow on Thursday created huge excitement in the House and the children have been thoroughly enjoying their ‘snow day’ today. Snowman competitions, sledging races and skiing on the golf course have all taken place, and the pupils will be baking and playing table tennis this afternoon…. when their toes have defrosted.
